Eps 50: Mt. Baekdu Part 3

Their Destination: Mt. Baekdu (Mt. Paektu)

It is actually an active stratovolcano, last erupted 1903. The wide lake you are seeing? , they said, is as wide as the Niagara Falls.

Paektu Mountain

Paektu Mountain ( Korean: 백두산, 白頭山), also known as Baekdu Mountain and in China as Changbai Mountain ( simplified Chinese: 长白山; traditional Chinese: 長白山), is an active stratovolcano on the Chinese-North Korean border.[2] At 2,744 m (9,003 ft), it is the highest mountain of the Changbai and Baekdudaegan ranges.

The lake is also called the Heaven Lake.

Heaven Lake

Heaven Lake ( Chosŏn'gŭl: 천지, Ch'ŏnji or Cheonji; Chinese: 天池, Tiānchí; Manchu: Tamun omo or Tamun juce) is a crater lake on the border between China and North Korea. It lies within a caldera atop the volcanic Paektu Mountain, a part of the Baekdudaegan mountain range and the Changbai mountain range.

Before they climb this mountain, they brought some parts of the korean ocean, those waters symbolize hope, a big hope to be unified.

They were amazed by the wonders of nature, they both explored the hot and cold water from Biryong waterfall.
This waterfall is not actually called the Biryong Waterfalls, this is called the Changbai Waterfalls.

Changbai Waterfall - The Main Waterfall of Changbai Mountain

The Changbai Waterfall (长白瀑布 [Chángbái Pùbù]; Everwhite Waterfall) was a 68m tall side attraction to Changbai Shan (长白山 [Chángbái Shān]; Everwhite Mountain; also Mt Paekdu or Paekdusan in Korean) and Tianchi (天池 [Tiānchí]; Heaven Lake). The North Korea / China border actually passed through Heaven Lake, and the Koreans considered the waters of the lake to be sacred.

They passed through 400 steps up to the tunnel, and they became more exhausted after going through 500 more steps in the tunnel.
They walked hand in hand.
