‘Because You’re My Man’ Lee Seunggi, First Fashion Shoot Post-Military'
(Fashion Pictorial & Interview)
Lee Seung-gi (30) has returned as a real man. We watched the young boy who cried desperately, "Because You're my Woman," becoming a smart young man and standing tall as a strong actor. This greedy young man did not stay as a singer and actor, but enjoyed an entertainment outing by revealing the refreshing appearance of human Lee Seung-gi. Lee Seung-gi, who traveled through the CRT, joined the military and ended his military life in a'nice' way with an exemplary special warrior life. After a long time, Lee Seung-gi's face was clearly filled with thick male muscles, and her thoughts were a little harder.

Q It's been a week since I was discharged.
▲ I was very busy. After two days off, I'm working on my schedule right away. I am exercising and controlling my weight while preparing for the tvN drama'Hwa Yugi'. It can be said that the routine is almost as a trainee. There is no specific adaptation to everyday life. I think of my comrades together these days. So I often call the dormitory.
Q Wasn't it difficult to get along with people 10 years old or younger?
▲ I didn't really notice the generation gap. It was enough to say that these guys are like neighborhood hyungs. It was a top in terms of stamina, but if you ask your successors, you'll know (laughs). I have a desire to compete. I don't want to beat these friends, it's a game against myself, saying,'If I do well, they will trust and follow me.' It’s not so bad if you just let the seniors do it and don’t do it. After living in the military, the best leadership was an example. If you can trust and respect your senior, your successors can move well. So I thought I should do well physically. Instead, even if I train at the same time and intensity the next day, I was a little more ill than other kids (laughs).
Q It was exemplary in the military as well. Why were you so zealous?
▲ I thought about it while traveling for a month. The soldiers did all the marches they didn't have to do. At first, it was like this. 'Since I'm a special warrior, I'll ask everyone what it was like and what they did, so shouldn't I do something?' Then, as a special warrior, I became eager to compete. These are the exercises that you can't even die on your own without a unit. I thought to go out with all the experiences I could have here, and when I was very motivated, I told the battalion commander my aspirations. I want to do everything I can do. The battalion commander said he wanted to make a lot of memories for the usual soldiers. "okay? I've been trained a lot, saying, "Please make me the true memories you want." Hahaha.
Q Did those many trainings become memories?
▲ It's a lifetime memory. When you are a celebrity activity, you have a set radius of action, but you broke it. I was really fortunate to learn more than in society while going as a special warrior. I challenged things I hadn't tried, and I continued to challenge my limits.
Q Will it be forgotten by the public or have there been any fear?
▲ There wasn't at all. The situation itself was difficult as I was controlled by freedom, but that was the time to recover. During my 11 years in the entertainment industry, I always think about something, pay attention to other people's eyes, and say'Is this going to work or not?','What should I do?' There was a lot of worries, but in the military, you don't have to think about it at all. You have to go through all the training equally without being out of hand. I don't have much worries. Just'What is dinner today?' 'Why did something so tasteless today come out? Tomorrow breakfast should be delicious'... That was my biggest thought.
Q. You can't miss a girl group in military life.
▲ I think the military is the most sensitive group to trends. Even when I watch the broadcast, the soldiers are very quick and sensitive. The new girl group that the soldiers are said to be floating is unconditionally floating within 3 months. JTBC'Knowing Brother' also said,'Is this so fun?' I wanted to, but it really popped up.
Q. There were even theories/rumors that you were staying in the army. Even the people around me would say Lee Seunggi’s time in the army seems to be going by really slowly.
▲ From 6 months before the campaign, they asked why they didn't come out. When I take a vacation and go out, I say, "Isn't that long left in the military?" And ask. It was embarrassing to say that there was a lot of military life left, but I thought it was time to come out, and there were rumors of military stakes and sergeant warfare. Heh. It means he wants to see me that much, and it was good to see him because he showed a lot of interest. I was also grateful for being welcomed during the war.
Q. I guess Jjambap is good. The face looks better than before enlistment.
▲ I did some weight management at the last minute. I fell a little more than before enlisting, but it's still not enough to return to the show right away. I exercise a lot without starving.
Q. When I was discharged, I was standing in front of the fans for a long time, but I think I felt very different.
▲ It was not important to have a large number of people and a small number of people. When I left, I kept drawing. I wanted to see all the thoughts and facial expressions I had while undergoing all kinds of training. I saw pictures of my training and training contents floating on the Internet, but the comments weren't joke. 'Wow, it's a big deal, the anticipation is too much?' I wanted it. So I did a lot of exercise before the whole country.
Q. You must have paid more attention than any photo wall.
▲ Right. I woke up at dawn on the day of the discharge, and all the kids were sleeping, but I stretched alone, ran outside, and did about 500 jump ropes. So I think my face came out nicely.
Q. The sentiment of the campaign that I wrote myself was also impressive.
▲ After I was discharged, I thought about it and wrote'one sweat, one sweat'. It's been a while since it's been a while, and it has become a bit longer. And since the fans don't know what they did, a lot of them were curious. I wrote down what I did as a special warrior.
Q. It is the beginning of work without a break.
▲ Thankfully, there were many proposals, such as drama scripts, movie screenplays, and entertainment. In fact, I wanted to get a skydiving license in the U.S. while taking a three-week break from my military service, so I searched a lot. But I'm happy to find me in so many places. I didn't think I could get more energy just because I was resting again. The energy to work was accumulated in the military. I wanted to have some energy left, so I decided to do a drama.
Q. Why did you choose tvN 'HwaYugi' as your return work?
▲ First, the script is interesting. I think I can do it well. I had faith because I worked with Sister Hong's writers and SBS'My Girlfriend is Gumiho'. Those who know me well enough. And I really wanted to do a work with director Park Hong-gyun.
Q. What kind of drama is 'HwaYugi'?
▲ It is an exorcism play with the motif of the classic'West Yugi'. Is Son Goku, who was a Shinseon, committed a great sin, sealed off his magic, and driven into the human world? You have to accumulate leading points to get back to the freshness. It's a drama about the journey to get rid of the evil spirits as they have a bad relationship with the white cow monster, Uma King (Cha Seung-won) and the three chief Jin Sun-mi (O Yeon-seo).
Q. The movie 'Compatibility', which was filmed before enlisting, is also about to be released.
▲ It is scheduled to be released around mid-January next year. In fact, when I was in the military, I knew how to open it and took all the promotional materials before enlisting. Still, there is no main character. It is said that the movie was edited well. looking forward to it.
Q. There are many fans looking forward to albums and entertainment.
▲ There are no plans for the album for the time being. You have to do entertainment. Anytime there is a good entertainment. Looking at entertainment these days, it seems that the colors have become more diverse. If there is an entertainment that suits me and I can do well, I want to do it enough.
Q. You have been doing well since your debut until now. The image of being a schoolboy seems to be burdensome. Have you ever thought of wanting to get out of that frame at least once?
▲ There is no such thing. Even though I heard that a celebrity should have extraordinary talent, I thought'I don't have much talent' until I went to the army. However, looking back on my 13 years in the entertainment industry, I think the reason why the public expected Lee Seung-gi to be discharged is because I have been diligently accumulating my own time. I realized that I had a skill to work hard. It's not just fun to play freely. I have to work to find out what I am good at and what is most natural when I do it.
Q. What is your goal for 2018?
▲ I think I need to find Lee Seung-gi's identity. 'Who am I? What is celebrity Seungki Lee?' The answer to the question you ask yourself. It's not like'I want to be an expert and I'm going to sell only one field!' I want to do everything I can. And I think I can do it well. 'I was a singer, an actor, and a person who performed entertainment. I want to do what I want to do, and I feel free to challenge the field I did well.' It’s not bad to have one such character in Korea.
Q. Lee Seung-gi is already thirty-two years old. What would you like to say to people in their 20s, Seunggi Lee in her 30s?
▲ The people in their twenties that I saw in the military seem to have too many thoughts. There were many friends who couldn't act because of their thoughts. I think even a little less fear and less time to worry about will result in a much different energy. I want to tell you to immerse yourself in this moment. Drawing the future every day doesn't mean that a bright future will come. Even if I think about'what will I do today?' and do well in my daily routine, it will be someday.
